Thank you for your interest in joining Stevenage Borough Council.

As an ambitious council located in an ambitious town, we have a reputation for punching above our weight. We have set a new corporate mission to make Stevenage Even Better, with big ambitions to become a destination town of the future.

Residents, Councillors and Council staff all share a desire for Stevenage’s neighbourhoods to be places where people want to live, work, enjoy themselves and raise a family if they choose and give them the best start in life.

The provision of high-quality social housing and thriving communities is central to this vision. To support our future aims, we have created the brand new role of Assistant Director for Housing and Neighbourhood Services to provide strong leadership to transform and improve our front-facing housing management and support services and to deliver a range of community-focused programmes that will make a tangible impact on people’s lives and life chances. This includes embedding a new neighbourhood management model that will strengthen connections between the Council, our communities and the people who live and work there.
