Leave a lasting legacy of excellence that our communities can thrive in.

Assistant Director for Housing & Neighbourhood

Salary: £74,000 - £85,000 per annum

About the role

Stevenage is an innovative and ambitious council with a reputation for punching above its weight. With a £1bn town centre regeneration programme underway and a major housing investment programme, we are well on our way to becoming a destination town of the future.

As Stevenage Borough Council's newly created Assistant Director for Housing and Neighbourhood Services, you lead the team to transform and improve our front-facing housing management and support services and will deliver a range of ambitious community-focused programmes, all of which will make a tangible difference to the lives of our residents.

We believe the provision of high-quality social housing and thriving communities is central to making Stevenage a place where people want to live, work, enjoy themselves and give young children the best start in life.

About you

You will bring with you a clear commitment and enthusiasm for the Stevenage Borough Council's vision, as well as a track record of developing strategies focused on adding real value to communities.

This role provides an opportunity for you to utilise your leadership skills to drive forward transformation and deliver performance improvement.

You will be politically astute with a solid understanding of housing within a local government context.

If you are an authentic and caring leader looking for a challenge and seeking an opportunity to lead change in an ambitious, growing organisation, we would love to hear from you. Come and help make Stevenage even better.
